A UNISON member who works at Whitley Depot has been awarded a Learning Grant from their trade union.

Kanji Patel, who applied for the grant in the Autumn, has been awarded £70 towards his studies which has seen him gain a NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work.

Kanji was very pleased to receive this help towards development and stated

“Learning Grants are available for UNISON members who want to go forward with their careers and personal development outside of work.”

Paul Hunt, a branch Union Learning Rep, added

“It is great news for Kanji and we are pleased that the branch has been able to help secure this grant for him. I would encourage all UNISON members to consider applying. It is of great credit to UNISON that we are able to help our members in their development.”
